Check out the slide from our Career Extravaganza day at Tain Royal Academy. The children participated in workshops from local businesses, learning about the construction, hospitality, food, service and business industries. At the end of the day we presented our learning on the Construction Industry to everyone who attended.

Developing the Young Work Force

P7 had an interesting first day back with a visit from Morrison Construction employees. The children learned about different roles involved within the construction industry and looked at the different stages involved in the building of a new school (very relevant for us!). The children learned about the apprentiship route to a job and had to spot the skills needed to work in roles on a construction site. A huge thank you to Morrison Construction for a great morning!

Team Work!

Well done to Leanne, Olivia, Ruth and Ryan S for winning the Scotland Quiz. We have been learning about rock formations and what makes up Scotland’s landscape in Science. We concluded our learning with a general knowledge quiz on Scotland’s rivers, cities, islands, hills and mountains.

P7 were busy this week putting together the latest edition of the Knockbreck News. They were given the responsibilty of proof reading and editing the paper, as these photos show. However, we have noticed two mistakes after print. Louie won in P5 and Eilidh is in Tarlogie not Aldie.

Busy Bees in P2/3

Here are a few class photos from P2/3. It was great to see the effort that went in to growing cress for the Science and Technology week homework! What an impressive effort at making ‘Egg-mobiles’ too!

P2/3 also rounded off the term with an egg hunt lead by Carla our Tesco Community Champion.
